VERY SPECIAL BOYS

These 5 brother, ranging in age from barely 5 to 11, are my husband's (and now mine of course) "cousins", for lack of a better name to call his mom's cousin's 5 grandchildren. Does anybody know what they are to us? Anyways.....we spent all last Saturday afternoon with them and some other great friends & family, giving them an extra special Christmas.

First, we surprised them with a trip to the ice skating rink (pictures coming soon!) as the opening event in their big holiday party. Although H doesn't have any immediate family besides his mom, he has a very large extended family that helped raise him when he was young.

The mother of these boys was unable to take care of them any longer, so instead of giving them up for adoption, their grandmother and her husband adopted them this past year. Can you imagine getting a 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd and 1st grader *AND* a pre-schooler!?!?! Their grandma is awesome and we wanted to treat the boys to a special holiday.

We also had some other extended family with us, MIL's "adopted" grand-daughters, were brave enough to hang out with all the boys. The are the ages of the youngest boy and the oldest boy- so it worked out well.

They are such awesome boys- so well behaved, sweet and very loving. I'll fill in the fun of the rest of the day, but here they are at the end of the night- sporting some of their new clothes.

Not to forget about the sisters, who are super-sweet too!

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: I'm really blessed to have the opportunity to make a difference in these kid's lives, and I hope that we can be a positive influence on them.

Oh, this is one of the best part of Christmas - enjoying them with children. Such a blessing to spend time with them - isn't it? I'd say they are your "cousin-nephews". Anyway, you and your hubby are so sweet to spend time with them. And your grandparents and MIL are so wonderful to adopt these precious children.
