CHRISTMAS PARTIES

We kicked off the party season with the most important party a few weeks ago, but had to move onto company parties last weekend. Last Friday, my company had their annual Christmas lunch at Fleming's downtown, which is a crowd favorite. This year, instead of doing the riotously funny white elephant, we decided to try bingo. It was quite fun, but I think all the uber-competitive Type-A engineers got too into the game and forgot to keep drinking. A few good prizes later, most everybody's buzz was killed.

We moved the after party a few blocks away to a bar called Deco, which was new and trendy, and one of the few places without smoke and that was open in the middle of the afternoon. Spouses usually join the party at this point, so my great and wonderfully PG friend Tina joined us, along with my boss and his lady.

Last Saturday night was H's company party at a swank Woodlands Hotel. We enjoyed some drinks, great food, a few prizes and a little bit of dancing.

Here's H having some fun with one of the pressmen who saves his butt all the time and another sales guy.

This Saturday night, we decided to have a little date night since we hadn't gone out just the two of us in a long time. We got all dressed up and headed into town. We dropped into a cool martini bar called Zimm's across from our restaurant.

Lots of couches and candles made for a nice romantic lounge spot. I didn't realize H had never had a cosmo before, even though it's a favorite drink of mine.

We headed across the street to a wonderful Brazilian Churrascaria called Nelore to reminisce about our wedding catering and prepare for our upcoming big trip. Though a big pricey, I bet it's probably more authentic than Fogo de Chao and you basically eat all the meat you want, so come hungry to get your money's worth. We also indulged in a fabulous chocolate mouse cake that was to die for!

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Merry Christmas & many thanks to all my loyal blog readers!
