CRAFTS & ICE CREAM

A few more posts on the very special boys that we took ice skating last weekend. Our wonderful hosts had set up a whole evening of fun and food for the boys. First off, we told them why they were there- because they are incredibly special and many people wanted to help them and give them gifts. We read the Christmas story from the Bible and gave each boy his own ornament.

They were pretty happy, but kept eyeing the huge pile of presents under the tree.

We set them down at the table and let them color and glitter-glue some wooden ornaments of their own.

They had a great time being creative, and the oldest one can really draw.

They were all proud of their creations and each boy had a small little box to hold all of their gifts. We then proceeded to give them tons of food: chicken strips, fries, pasta, meatballs, enchiladas, rolls, chips & queso and tons of other stuff. We needed them to get their energy up to open all those gifts (which will have to be it's own post....).

After the gifts, we had an ice cream sundae party, where each boy made their own creation of sugar over-dose.

They were pretty happy about the the 5 ice cream flavors, M&M toppings, nuts, chocolate sauce, sprinkles and waffle cones.

It started getting a bit out of control when our host tempted them into doing whip cream shots! Everybody was begging for a chance and squealing with excitement.

Except for the youngest- he wasn't too sure about the ice cream and only wanted a banana to eat instead of on top of his creation.

Here is our host trying to give MIL a shot of whip cream. We couldn't convince her to try it.

The boys just had too much fun eating all the ice cream and were bouncing off the walls for the rest of the night. We apologized, half jokingly, to their grandparents as we loaded up the truck with all their toys and gifts.

We let the boys out in the front yard, and they went running around quite a bit- using up all that sugar supply. We'll check out their loot tomorrow....

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: We were so blessed that our friends arranged this for the boys and we were just glad we could contribute to a wonderful day for them.
