WINE IS SO FINE

Last Saturday morning started off lazy (if you don't count doing laundry), and we were struck with indecision about what to do. There were at least 6 different festivals going on in Houston, but the weather was just so hot and muggy and miserable. We finally decided to drive to Galveston, but changed our plans again when it started pouring down rain on our way there. We detoured to a wine bar in town and continued our lazy day with some drinking at Cova.

With our indecision, we couldn't settle on a bottle or even a glass, so we did a "wine flight" where you get a 2 oz. sample of 3 different bottles. These particular wines were Pinot Noir, and they were all quite tasty.

We ordered some snacks- 4 types of cheese and 4 types of cold cuts. Decorated with raw honeycomb and a flower. We enjoyed all the food, except for one cheese. Check out H trying to cut the very hard cheese.

H loved the smoked meats, but the reminded me of various forms of beef jerky and bacon. I munched on the bread with my cheese & wine. After an extra glass of our favorite wine from the flight, we headed out to explore Houston and take some fun photo of the downtown skyline.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: I love that my hubby and I had a great afternoon to visit with each other and simply relax.
