What a great weekend! Lots of fun with friends and lots of catching up. PLUS SLEEP! I don't get much during the week, so sleeping on the weekends is how I get by. Friday night we went out to dinner with H's mom and their customer for her birthday. She came to Houston from New Orleans after Katrina, and it was amazing to see how she's rebuilt her life. Below is H playing with her son.
We intended to do some more yard work, and even Zoe wanted to help. BUT there were about 15 gabillion ants that had made a super-mansion in our trees! So instead of fertilizing them, we ended up ant killing instead. Oh, and FYI- ants don't photograph well :(
Saturday we mostly ran errands and got all primped for our big night out at the Mexican Institute of Greater Houston's Annual Gala. It's held at a super-swank hotel in the Galleria, and we'd attended the event last year. Some of our friends were going too, so we knew we'd enjoy drinks and a yummy dinner! As a bonus, they had a fabulous band and we got to brush up on some of our Salsa moves.
Sunday was church & lunch with some new friends. I took some more classic Zoe pictures too, so I promise I'll get them blogged this week ;) We cleaned out the house and donated stuff, fixed cars and dug out all our camping gear for next weekend. It's going to be a crazy-busy week for us, but that's how I like it. We had breakfast for dinner-my favorite! And we watched an odd, odd movie on our "classics" list. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is about a patient that fakes being insane to get out of prison. Odd & depressing....
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: I neither need to worry about being in a sanatorium or a prison.
