YELLOW RIBBONS

Just wanted to use my blog today to remind everybody of all the servicemen who serve our country, especially those who are deployed abroad. Even if you don't agree with the current war, these men and women still deserve our respect and admiration.

My sister's girl scout troop recently attached yellow ribbons to dozens and dozens of trees that line the entrance to our neighborhood. One of the girl's father was deployed in the reserves and coming home for a short break. They wanted to do something special for him to know that he is appreciated.
It's absolutely awesome to see these rows of majestic Water Oak Tree's adorned with Yellow Ribbons as a reminder to all those who drive by them everyday. A stretch of the jogging trail where I run many morning is lined on both sides, which provides a nice break when the sun is beating down on you.

A special thanks to all our former and current servicemen (and women!) and their families for the numerous sacrifices they have made.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Home of the free because of the brave.

That is pretty damn cool and I agree, they deserve MORE than our respect and admiration. Thank you for posting.

What great photos!! Being both in the Army and current Texans, I'm sending this post to my brother and sister-in-law. He's over in Iraq now and she'll get deployed just as he returns...so I know they'll love seeing this!
