Sunday in New Orleans was gorgeous! We packed up our bags for the long drive home, but decided to swing through the Quarter for a quick breakfast.
Our first stop was at Cafe du Monde for some world famous beignets. They were well worth the 30 minute wait just for a "to go" bag.
Jackson Square was particularly beautiful this morning too, but they were having a special Fireman & Police Officer Memorial Service. Between the horse sculpture and the church, you can see fire trucks have been set up with their ladders to hang an American flag.
I think just about every officer in town was there- literally hundreds of cops all gathered to remember their fallen. We ate our beignets and watched them gather for the service. The thing we missed walking through the square in the rain was all the local artists. I really wish we had time to shop around and fine some fun & funky art piece for our house. Maybe next trip....
And just one of Zoe cause we missed her. :)
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: It's in the 50's here in San Francisco and perfect for my morning jog.

Wow, that looks like fun. One of the things I'm going to regret more about living in NC then leaving was that I didn't get to explore more of the south when I could have.
You are so well traveled....I'm jealous.
You get to go everywhere! Where do you find the time?
