St. Patti's Day Savannah

I'm interrupting my Disney blogging for a brief St. Patti's Day flashback! This was my 2nd year of college, so March of 2000, and my mom came to visit me in Georgia. We did the tourist thing in Atlanta for a few days & then headed down to Savannah with my friend Ashley for a giant party!

Ok, so I probably shouldn't have done this, but I couldn't resist men in uniform! The Savannah St. Patti's Day parade is about 14 hours long, but we had great seats for the first 2 hours of marching men and mayhem.

There is a super awesome cobblestone area on the waterfront with lots of shops, restaurants and bars. The area is opened up for the festivities and partying goes on all day long. It reminds me a lot of Mardi Gras in New Orleans, except everybody is much friendlier and slightly less tacky.

I have no idea why this man couldn't wait until after the photo for his french fries!

I promise my mom really was there supervising all the *activities* (considering I was still a year away from blessed 21) and we had a blast hanging out with my mom for a week.

I was also dating a Marine who was stationed in North Carolina at the time. I've got some stories about sharing a room with him, my mom and a friend that are NOT blog appropriate ;)

The SPD party in Savannah is legendary & I've never had more fun. If you ever get a chance to go, I highly recommend it!

Thanks mom- you rocked!

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: A year late, but we finally finished our My Publisher album for our trip to Brazil & Argentina!
