Weren't expecting a butterfly I bet! Neither was I as we walked through the garden between the pumpkin patch & the barnyard. I imagine in early fall, there are tons of beautiful flowers & lots of vegetables growing, but it was pretty barren in late November.
We sort of missed the barnyard portion of Dewberry Farms, but we did stop to see the donkey walking laps on the outside & the boys got to feed the billy goats.
These geese didn't want to have anything to do with the boys, and they made that abundantly clear with all of their honking. There were also ducks in the duck pond swimming around, but they could get closer to these on land.
Another activity the boys enjoyed was the duck races. They had the little floating yellow rubber ducks that raced down a pipeline, which was supplied by water from a hand pump in the ground.
It was great to watch the boys' expressions as they pumped water the old fashioned way.
They finally got the hang of racing & would see who would pump faster to float their ducky to the end first.
A few of the boys met this friendly horse while waiting for their pumping turn. They weren't quite sure how to pet such a large animal.
Back at the duck races, they were really getting into it & smiles were breaking out all around.
I didn't have to heart to tell Adam, but I think he had a broken pump which would only produce about half of the volume of water as the other pump.
And if they couldn't pump, they were at the finish line playing around in the water trough.
Mark still wasn't too sure of this horse
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: We've got a Christmas tree, and it's even decorated!

I love the butterfly picture; orange is my favorite color and it goes very well with all the greenery.
