Last weekend, H had he 2nd Annual Boys Baseball trip. Last year, he visited Yankee Stadium and National Stadium. He headed back to New York this year to visit Shea Stadium and then up to Boston to check out Fenway. A little sight-seeing on Friday to check out Ground Zero.
He said there really wasn't much to see, except a giant hole & lots of construction. It didn't quite look like these pictures.
H's friends were too busy this year to go, so my step-dad John was his traveling buddy. Despite this picture, he was ecstatic to go & had been looking forward to the trip for months.
It was a very interesting day to be hanging out on around the Stock Exchange, given the recent volatility and the proposed bailout plans.
There were some protesters taking advantage of their 1st amendment rights to protest.
The guys in front of the NYSE.
Lots of pretty buildings to see in NY, but H isn't nearly as photo-maniacal as I am. I've yet to REALLY go to NYC and spend any time there, just exploring the city. The closest I get, is living vicariously though the Life & Time of a New New Yorker as she shows me around the city.
I have no idea what this pretty, old building is, and I'm not at home to ask H.
After watching the incredibly HBO mini-series, John Adams, H was very interested to see the Federal Hall, where Washington delivered the first ever inaugural address to the nation when NYC was still the capitol of the United States.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: The second Presidential debate is tonight at 9PM ET, be sure not to miss it!

I'm almost expecting to see smoke and fire coming out of the windows of the NYSE ...
