One of the big projects on our 101 List was to install a sprinkler system. We decided that NOW was the time & had all the phone/cable/gas companies come out to mark the lines running through our yard. Check out our new lemon and lime trees! ;)
They did this marking when I initially planted the trees and bushes in the backyard, but I think they have laid several more since then.
We've found a great handyman- who is helping out with many projects including the duplex maintenance, the shed construction and attic additions. He set up 5 stations in the front and back yard, plus a station for our garden when we get it going again.
Yea, winter grass in Texas is not very impressive. It turns brown and dies. We were missing a big ol' patch of it that will have to be re-sodded this spring.
And we've got a sprinkler system! In all it's glory & the guy told us we won't need to water the lawn until spring comes.
I can't wait till this summer when I don't have to set up the sprinklers every afternoon, keep track of when I've watered, and put out the hoses after the yard men come every week.
I was having so much fun with the sprinkler & taking abstract photos of the water falling. It would have been great to take more, if I weren't standing in the mud and it wasn't 40 degrees outside.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: All ready for the marathon tomorrow and trip to DC, just watching the weather which is changing every few hours!

A good sprinkler system is so convenient! Unfortunately I think ours was put together by some yahoo who never heard of PVC cement, but still, it works. Mostly.
