Attic Additions

Another thing that's been on my "TO DO" list for a long time is to add some storage space in our attic. It is very large, but the part that is "finished" out with decking to store things is very small. We don't have basements in this part of Texas, and I'm always jealous of people that do have them.

We have the typical ladder-in-the-ceiling type of access from our hallway, and this is the view standing on the ladder.

For some strange reason, there is no insulation over our attic & the previous owners left us a gift of a baby crib.

All of our Christmas decorations & extra luggage were arranged very precariously and blocking access to the A/C unit.

There's about a million miles of cable running every which way and for who knows what, plus random pieces of junk- like this extra light fixture.

We added some decking over this direction, which is over my office & now all our Christmas decorations are neatly stored up there.

We cleared out everything but our artificial Christmas tree from in front of the A/C unit, but we still need to remove the miscellaneous junk lying around (can you spot the bathroom light fixture sitting on top of the A/C?).

We added some decking above the garage so we will have some future room to expand.
And all of our luggage is stored right by the hatch for easy access whenever we need it.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Headed back to Georgia today- Atlanta this afternoon, Macon this evening & Savannah tomorrow.
