New Years Celebration

We had a blast on New Year's Eve! We headed downtown to the Houston Hyatt for their big blowout. We stared out the evening right after we checked in with some sushi and fruitie drinks from Benihana. Mark, appropriately enough, had the Benihana Buddah drink.
We headed back to the hotel for a quick nap and then to get all dolled up for our big evening. We joked around and took silly "prom" pictures in front of this drab curtain.
Every year the hotel throws a huge party, with multiple bands in various banquet halls & the 50,000 balloon drop at midnight.

This was our view of the lobby from the 10th floor when we checked in that afternoon.
And this is what it looks like after midnight- with hundreds of people still jamming to the music and popping balloons.

H's mom came out for the evening too & we had a blast hanging out with her.

Mark & Pam were partying up the night with us, but we missed H's other friend Matt.

Our last photo together of 2008!

This is what it looks like standing in the lobby for the big balloon drop!

Just a few nice shots from our room of downtown Houston.

This building is just so strange with it's stepped architecture. I really wonder how it looks on the inside & how functional it can be.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Starting off the work year with a bang- and a day trip to Dallas today.
