Last Monday, Zoe still had really bad bumps all over. She'd been on antibiotics for a week and then we tried switching her to a different allergy medicine for over a week. They would get better and then worse, but never really go away. I finally decided to take her to an animal dermatologist.
Last Tuesday, they looked at the fluid from inside the bumps and decided it was a staph infection and an allergic reaction. They put her on a allergy medicine with a steroid and also a new antibiotic.
By the first afternoon, her bumps were improving and withing a few days they were fully gone. It's been a week now, and we're slowly starting to taper the steroids over the next two weeks. Hopefully she will remain bump free and chasing the bugs.
GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: H picked me up at work and took me to lunch since we aren't seeing much of each other in the evenings I'm taking my SCUBA classes.

Scuba is fun is hubby joining you in the pool?
Staph, yuck! Glad they figured out what it is and that it's getting better.
You might want to ask the vet about Duoxo by Sogeval

It is a relatively new product. This is for staph. Flirt has a staph infection on her neck and we are not treating with antibiotics. I am using Chlorohexidine (sp?) shampoo plus a topical Duoxo every 3 days for a total of 5 times. It's healing wonderfully. Her rash is contained to her neck and under her chin.

I'm so happy to hear she's getting better!
we went through this with one of our v's this spring. It was awful and kept coming back despite the antibiotics and steroids. We finally decided to treat it aggressively at home with frequent showers and topical powders. We also started using "dream coat" oil on their food and that has really helped! I hope your v continues to be well!
