Lake Tahoe, Part 2

This is the 2nd portion of our flashback to our very first "couple trip" to Lake Tahoe in July of 2004. One of my favorite expeditions was white water rafting on the Truckee River. It was a beautiful drive up there, including over Donner Pass.

Before my super-great camera, I just bought a water-proof disposable to photograph our adventures. I must have missed the shot where we flipped the raft over a rock and everybody went into the water!

One day, we decided to head over to the Emerald Bay area and do some hiking on the many trails in the area. This tiny bay is especially gorgeous, but we were determined to hike higher and see better things.

Our few hours of hard work hiking paid off when we came to an area with gorgeous waterfalls and an awesome area of shallow (cold) river to cool off and rest.

This is actually Lake Donner, named after the fateful family that spent a very tragic winter trapped there in the 1840's. The drive up from South Lake Tahoe was spectacular, if not a bit nerve-wracking for H.

This was one of my all time favorite photos of us for years. Lake Tahoe is one of the few places that I'd go back to in a heart beat (and Greece).

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Playing volleyball last night reminded me how much fun I had playing for almost 10 years.
