Garden Week 15

Another adventure filled week in the garden. Last Saturday I noticed all these little black ball things (eggs??) on quite a few of the leaves.

They seriously grossed me out and I worried they were bugs or worms.
I finally bought some bug powder and sprinkled it all around the garden. It might be too late for the tomatoes though.

The watermelon are finally starting to grow. This was last Saturday.
And this was a week later. I'm actually excited to eat it in a few weeks.

Many flowers on the cucumber plants still, and I harvested a few more HUGE cucumbers this week.

There were some nice flowers on the tomatoes and DO YOU SEE THAT???

I didn't even notice that giant worm until I had been sitting there staring at the sad, decimated tomato plants for a few minutes.

Not 1, but 2 giant worms munching on my plants! H wouldn't even get them off, and he made me remove them and toss them over the fence.

And in a small surprise, this squash plant has actually started to grow again. All the other squash were doing well, and then they suddenly all died. I'd be thrilled if I ended up with some squash.

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: I ordered some lovely prints and a canvas to hang in my office.

Your garden is coming along nicely. Let me know how your watermelon tastes! Yucky worms.

Looks like you've got yourself some tomato hornworms there. We get those too. My wife has been known to capture them and bring them in to school as temporary classroom pets. They're quite destructive but they make a pretty moth.
